Design Approach
The design philosophy behind The Flint Dock centres on purposeful elegance, the belief that luxury should serve a clear, elevated function. Inspired by the clean lines of modern industrial design, every angle and curve was engineered to elevate the physical ritual of enjoyment.
Production
Rather than using standard stamped metals or cast alloys, every single shell is carved from a solid block of high-density brass using advanced multi-axis CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining.
This monolithic machining approach ensures absolute structural integrity, perfect weight distribution, and razor-sharp geometric precision that feels substantial and balanced in the palm.
CNC milling allows the horizontal resting grooves and inner mechanical chambers to be sculpted directly from the core shell, resulting in seamless, zero-tolerance construction without weak points or seams.
Built around a traditional, high-friction flint-roll mechanism, the ignition delivers a satisfying, tactile engage with every flick, delivering reliable flame delivery backed by time-tested mechanical physics.
The polished shells are submerged in specialised electroplating baths to apply a rich, high-karat gold finish engineered to resist tarnish, heat exposure, and everyday wear.
